We are, to say the least, elated to inform you that the Italian version of the Atlas of Emotions is now available with the contribution of I&G Management that will make it operational in Italy.
Thanks first of all to Eve and Paul Ekman, PhD for believing in the project and for the trust they continue to show us year after year.
Thanks also to the Dalai Lama for funding such an important project for our emotional well-being.
We know that the mind and emotions impact our bodies, and today we can also verify this through scientific methods.
The Atlas is a tool to help teachers and professionals recognise emotions and enables everyone to become more aware of their inner experiences and acquire useful supports to manage our emotional reactions effectively.
You can delve into the degrees of intensity of emotions, precise descriptions of what is going on in the body and use examples and strategies on how to intervene.
The words describing emotions are derivations of seven basic emotion families: anger, fear, happiness, sadness, surprise, contempt and disgust and are innumerable.
As with music, we know so many songs, but if someone asked us what key the song was composed in, many of us would not be able to answer.
We need to know more about the 7 notes so that we can then compose as many melodies as we wish.
Thus we need to increase our skills with regard to the 7 basic emotions, in order to be familiar with them and not be emotionally enraptured.
It is in the universality of what we feel that we will discover ourselves to be the same!
If you would like to read the interview with Paul, in which he tells us more about the Atlas, you can read it on our blog:
